Park Trip B.B.Q. 9:45am ~ 12:00 noon
Parents,
We hope everyone is adjusting well to all the changes here. We would like to thank you for all your patience and trust. After one month in their new classes, we have observed that most of the children have adjusted smoothly. There are a few children still adjusting emotionally. Here we want to pass some information to you, the parents. As you know when you chose to send your child to Fairway, you chose a school, which met your needs and ideals. Other than taking good care of your child, a school should be able to train and educate your child for his/her future. As we try to do our jobs, you as the parents need to help your child adjust to the new environment and school rules, instead of asking the school to bear with you. Believe us, we know it is much easier to let children do whatever they want than it is to train, correct, or discipline them. We impose rules and disciplines on the children not only because it is our part of our responsibilities, but because we really care for all our students here at Fairway. We want them all to grow and learn to be the best they can be. We hope you can understand our purpose and support us.
Red, White, & Blue Day –On Friday July 2nd we will be celebrating our country’s independence. The children are asked to wear red, white & blue to school this day. We will have a flag ceremony at 9:30am followed by a parade. Parents are invited to join the flag ceremony & parade.
Water Play –Now that the weather is hot, the children will have water play on Thursdays or Fridays, we will let you know on Mondays if there is water play for that week. For water play your child will need: (1) swimsuit (2) towel (3) water shoes (4) sunscreen (5) plastic bag for wet clothes. Everything needs to be labeled with your child’s name. Water play will be in the afternoon after nap. If anyone of you do not want your child to get wet, please let the teacher know and do not bring in your water play gear to prevent any confusion between parents and school.
Fieldtrips –The Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Pre-1st classes will go to Long Beach Aquarium on Friday July 16. Due to our appointment with the Aquarium, we will leave at 8:30 am and return at 4:00 pm. Children need to wear school shirts, and come to school on time!! Do not bring any snacks or water bottles, they are not allow to eat on the bus and they need both hands to explore. Also, the most important reminder to parents: When we go on fieldtrips, we are having outdoor education; we are not just going for fun! The fieldtrips we choose are part of our theme for that week. The most important thing for the fieldtrip is to see/learn from where we are. It is important for the children to follow and listen to the teachers. We really appreciate any parents who come with us on trips. But we do ask that you help us to help the children follow our fieldtrip rules. You can take your child to these places any time and give your child all the food and snacks you want any time. But the chance for your child to go places with their school group is rare and fun for them. So it is important for them to learn to follow the group rules when out on a trip. This is one of the goals for our trips and we appreciate your cooperation.
B.B.Q Park Trips –Friday July 30, the Pre-K, K, and Pre-1st will be walking to the park. We will barbeque hot-dogs and eat lunch at the park. Parents are welcome to come help supervise the children and have lunch with us. We will leave school at 9:45am and return at 12:00 noon. Children need to wear school shirts and walking shoes.
Have a Safe, Fun 4th of July
