Parents,

We hope everyone had a great holiday. Thank you to everyone who came to the Christmas program and the class parties, we hope you enjoyed it all as much as the children did. A great big THANK YOU from the staff for all the wonderful gifts; we really appreciate your thoughtfulness and your support!

Now that the New Year is here, the Pre-K children in Rooms 8, 9, and 10 will start working more on phonics and spelling. They will have spelling tests on Fridays. The will also be working on addition and subtraction. Make sure you check your child’s folder daily for homework in these areas. Also our test rules for Pre-K and Kindergarten are same as the regular test rules: (1) Do not leave your seat no matter what the reason during test, or you will get a “0” score. (2) Come to school on time or before 9:00am, there will be no make up test for the latecomers. And to avoid disturbing the test, latecomers will be in the office waiting until the test is finished.

Progress Reportwill be home on Jan. 13rd for all the children. If you wish to discuss it with your child’s teacher, please make an appointment! Do not take up the teacher’s class time.

Chinese New Year Celebration Monday Jan. 23rd, we will celebrate the Chinese New Year. We will have our Chinese New Year performance and the parade at 11:30am. After the parade we will have a potluck lunch, there will be a sign up sheet posted so you can bring food to share with your child’s class. As always parents and families are invited to enjoy our parade and join us for lunch. “Gung Hay Fat Choy”!

Remind you again Parents, to make sure all kids are warm enough when they play in the playground; the rule is “No one takes off the jacket! If your jacket is not on you, you have to stay in the office the whole morning or afternoon.” The teachers will make sure your child has his/her jacket on before playground time. Anyone who takes off the jacket outside in the playground will be put in the office to warm up for the whole playtime. Please put fewer shirts on your child and always bring a big jacket everyday in the winter. In the classroom we have the heater on, they won’t feel cold with less clothes, don’t worry about it!

Happy New Year
